This workshop aims to provide an overview of ESF financial management as it relates to the ESF National Eligibility Rules to help prepare organisations in the planning of costs and their management thereafter. The content will cover the eligibility aspects of expenditure incurred by both grant recipient and its partners and the methodologies behind the calculation of costs and claims for match funded projects and the methods applied by Co-Financing Organisations. Group discussion and interactive exercises are introduced to assist attendees understand how these rules relate in practice. The workshop will cover
• Review of regulatory conditions relating to eligibility of expenditure
• Discuss the management of project budgets – profiles, match funding, apportionment methodologies, simplified costs
• Understand the expectations the Regulations place on grant recipients in terms of accountability and audit trails
• Discuss the risks associated with the management of ESF projects
