ERDF State Aid Workshop
The Molineux, Wolverhampton
25th May 2018, 9.30am – 3pm
This one day workshop is designed to provide ERDF applicant organisations with a sound understanding of the legal complexities surrounding the investment of public funding into projects as the onus is placed on the applicant organisation to maintain compliance throughout. It is essential that all involved in the planning and delivery of ERDF funded projects appreciate the conditions set out in the Treaty of the Functioning of the EU and specifically Articles 107 and 108 which set out the limitations of Aid investment and the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) that permits investment. Recording, reporting, maintenance of investment and retention of documentation are all essential conditions of grant with significant penalties imposed for non-compliance. The workshop will cover the regulatory requirements and put them into context through group discussion and practical examples.
The workshop will cover:
• The background and key purpose of State Aid
• Working with State Aid through compliant projects
• Review of the GBER and how the Exemptions operate in practice
• Establishing risk management procedures to manage State Aid
To book please contact BCTA@walsall.gov.uk or 01922 654379.
This workshop and the Black Country ERDF Technical Assistance Project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund Programme 2014-2020.
