The Black Country Technical Assistance Team maximises the take up and impact of the European Structural and Investment Funds Programme. The Team provides technical advisory support, ensuring that quality proposals are designed in accordance with ESIF and national funding requirements. The Team facilitates wide ranging access to the Programme, through stakeholder engagement and capacity building activity, and increases visibility of ESIF funding in the sub-region.

The Black Country Impact has successfully achieved up to £51 million of funding to deliver a two year project that will address the barriers faced by unemployed individuals aged 15-29 years, supporting them to secure a brighter future through employment, training and education.
The Black Country Impact Project Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) has been set up by Dudley MBC, Sandwell MBC, Walsall MBC, The City of Wolverhampton Council and Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council ("the Impact Partners").
Small Black Country third sector organisations and not for profit groups that help improve the skills and job prospects of local residents now have the chance to benefit from assistance being offered by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Skills Funding Agency (SFA).

A Romanian case in the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has highlighted the clawback risk to European funding if national procurement rules are not followed.
